The beloved America's Got Talent contestant Nightbirde, whose real name is Jane Marczewski, passed away on February 19, 2022, at the age of 31 after a four-year battle with cancer. She captured the hearts of the judges and the audience with her original song "It's OK" during her audition in June 2021, where she revealed her cancer diagnosis.
Nightbirde received the coveted Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell, which advanced her to the next round. She withdrew from the competition in August 2021 because of her declining health but virtually updated her progress. In May 2023, the Mzansi Youth Choir from South Africa performed "It's OK" during their audition, earning the first-ever Audience Golden Buzzer.
