Online fashion retailer ASOS has announced plans to cut 500 jobs as part of a restructuring plan due to a fall in sales caused by the coronavirus pandemic. ASOS has seen a significant drop in demand for occasion wear, which typically makes up a large part of its revenue, as people cancel plans and events during lockdown. The company expects the job cuts to save around £16m ($20m) this year, with other cost-saving measures being implemented to mitigate the impact of the crisis.
