Abu Hamza, the convicted terrorist known as the "hook-handed hate preacher", is seeking to be released from the US prison where he is serving a whole life sentence. He claims that the Covid-19 pandemic has left him too ill to continue living in solitary confinement at Colorado's ADX Florence prison. The 65-year-old former imam, who praised the 9/11 hijackers, spends 23 hours a day alone in a windowless cell. His lawyer argues that the "draconian conditions" have caused him to suffer from multiple bouts of Covid-19 and deteriorating health.
